Top 5 Queen Songs

*The following article was written by Stacey Lannigan*

Formed in London, 1970, Queen are a British rock band whose classic line-up consisted of: Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals) and John Deacon (bass). Today, I’m exploring Queen’s music as well as picking out what I believe to be their top 5 songs!

1. We Will Rock You!

This song is one of their most compelling, with an infectious beat designed to encourage listeners to include themselves into the music with repetative stomping and clapping.

2. Bohemian Rhapsody

Despite being a rock band, this song just goes to show how talented the band were in incorporating other types of music into their works, such as – who would have believed it – opera!

3. The Show Must Go On

Regardless of the bad publicity the band, namely Freddie, got in the press and the difficulties faced, this song aids in expressing just how devoted each of them were to each other, their band and music.

4. I Want To Break Free

This one isn’t just a catchy tune that will have you bobbing your head and tapping your foot along to the music but the ultimate entertainment, especially when it comes to the music video.

5. We Are The Champions

Ever needed a lift-me-up? Then this is the song to listen! This victory song is the perfect one to play for some arm-waving of the masses action and so must be included in our list of the top 5 songs by Queen!

What do you think of the above list and what is your favourite Queen song?
