The reader problems book tag… Of course, if you’re a reader there are MANY problems which exist for our kind but here are my answers to just a few questions for the sake of the tag!

You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

To be honest, I think I would start with the stand alone novels first and read through those. Series can be read after that just so that I have more time to focus on the plot and work my way through the novels because when I read a series it tends to feature a LOT of books.

You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

If I’m halfway through the book and still not enjoying it then I’m going to quit. That doesn’t mean to say that I won’t ever attempt to read it again though! There have been plenty of books that I’ve not enjoyed during my first time reading them but then I’ve decided to give the novel another try and found myself unable to put it down. So yeah, quit and maybe return to it a different day.

The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

Maybe – I would probably try and find more time to read or read books that had less pages. After all, sometimes those books that aren’t packed with action tend to be just as enjoyable…

The covers of a series you love do. not. match. How do you cope?

I know a lot of people get annoyed when book series covers don’t match but I’ve never been too bothered by it. I appreciate some book covers more than others but admire them all.

Every one and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

If I can’t find someone on Twitter or Goodreads, then I rant about it to my Nan – she maybe not share my feelings or have read the book at all but she is such a great listener!

You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

I cry. Simple as that. If I am reading a book in public that is going to make me cry then I will cry – I’m terrible at hiding and controlling my emotions at the best of time but when I’m lost in a book? I forget that other people can see me and all hell breaks loose!

A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book?

I re-read. Definitely. There’s nothing worse that reading the newly released novel in a series having forgotten facts from the novels prior. If I don’t re-read, I just spend the majority of my time that I’m reading asking questions that I should already know the answer to.

You do not want anyone. ANYONE. borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?

I normally pretend that I’m in the middle of reading the book and if I think the person is going to remember they want to borrow the book then I tell them I’m already loaning it out to someone. When they ask in the future, it’s “Oh dear, I still haven’t gotten it back from *insert name here*…”!

Reading ADD. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

Harry Potter! No matter what the Harry Potter book series are books which I will always read! So I’ll re-read a Harry Potter book or the entire book series and then see what I feel like reading afterwards.

There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

All of them! Then they sit around for weeks or maybe months while I re-read books that I’ve already read at least several times, haha! Does anyone have the re-read bug?

After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

Well, I just answered that question in the answer to the question above! Haha. I’m terrible for not reading books which I buy right away…
